Today I had the honor of doing this memorial turtle tattoo for a lady who lost a close friend.
Her friend also had a turtle tattoo, so this piece carried a lot of meaning.

It was not just about the design. It was about grief, friendship, memory, and carrying someone forward in a visible way.

A friend of mine had donated some funds to help cover a special tattoo for someone, just as a kind gesture. So when the tattoo was finished, I got to let her know that her piece had already been paid for.

That moment meant a lot.
This is the kind of work that reminds me why tattooing matters. Sometimes a tattoo is more than ink. Sometimes it is a way to remember someone, honor them, and keep a piece of them close.

It was a great three days at the #freddytattooexpo both my wife and I had a blast.
A huge thanks to @missingicarus for my tattoo of a bear skull over my heart. I absolutely love it!

These started as simple stencil designs.
Just lines. Nothing more.
Then I pushed them into 3D.
No plan beyond that. Just curiosity.
And once they had form, everything changed.
Details hit different.
Shapes either worked… or didn’t.
Some parts held up.
Some parts fell apart fast.
That’s the part I like.
Taking something simple and stress testing it.
Seeing what survives when you add another dimension.
Not everything needs a purpose.
Sometimes you just follow the idea and see where it goes.

Client came in for a half day session with this dragon concept.

We focused on clean flow first. Made sure the body wraps naturally with the shape of the leg. That’s what makes a piece like this work.
Crisp linework to hold the detail. Kept it open enough so it ages right.

Finished it off with soft color to bring it to life without overloading it.

Client brought in a child’s drawing and wanted it tattooed exactly as is.
